I think it all depends on your own preferences. Do you prefer to live on HK Island or Kowloon/ NT side? Do you prefer to be close to your work or downtowns? Do you drive or take public transportation?
But overall, Happy Valley is a good spot to live. Pretty good neighborhood and close enough to Wan Chai, Causeway Bay, Central areas. Another place would be good is coastal areas like Repulse Bay and Stantly. More quiet and nice oceanview, and yet pertty good transportations. And Mid-level is another good spot too. It's very close to Wan chai and Central, where you can find a lot of westerners ( I assume it would make you feel better :P)
