the area=2[22- 1/4 (22π)]=2[4-1/4(4π)]
=2(4-π)

Let area on each side be X cm^2.
Let area at the center be Y cm^2.
so 2X + Y = 4 ( area of the square)............(1)
X + Y = p(2)^2/4 = pi ( area of a quadrant).............(2)
(1) - (2) we get
X = 4 - pi.
Y = pi - X = pi - ( 4 - pi) = 2pi - 4.
