Does yahoo answers always counts thumbs up best answers?

I do not now I look at best of answers sometimes and the best answer get like 200 thumbs up and to be honest there points do not reflect it. Also on a smaller scale I some times get 3 or 4 thumbs up in best answer and maybe I get 1 points for them. It just seemed odd.

Thumbs up on a best answer should be extra points, one point for every thumbs up. I think there is a maximum of 50 thumbs up so 50 points.

Y!A gives you a point for each Thumbs Up you get (if your answer is awarded the Best Answer by the asker or via the Voting process), but only up to 50. I've gotten points for Thumbs Up on BAs on questions that are months old. To see them you need to check your Recent Activity tab, but that only shows the last 6 transactions, so you need to check it pretty quickly.

No. How many thumbs up an answer gets, has no bearing on it being chosen as a best answer.
People choose as `best answer` as the answer THEY like, which is not always the `right` or cleverest answer.
You`ll see some best answers have no thumbs at all, up or down, and some even have thumbs down.
Thumbs given up or down are just personal opinions and choices.

well probably they ment 200 people and yahoo works in very srange ways .
