3 x + 6 + x + 2

4 x + 8

PS
In Mathematics there is a special number named i and the manner in which you presented the question makes it read as :-

3( x + 2 ) + x + 2 = i

But somehow , I don`t think this is what you mean !

= 3(x + 2) + x + 2
= 4(x + 2)

Answer: 4(x + 2)

Checking:
= 3(x + 2) + x + 2
= 3x + 6 + x + 2
= 4x + 8
= 4(x + 2)

Well start out by distributing
3x+6+x+2=i
Then combine like terms
4x+8=i
Subtract 8 from both sides
4x=-8+i
Divide by 4
x=-2+(i/2)

=3(x+2)+x+2
=3x+6 by multiplying x+2 by 3
=>add 3x+6 with the other equation i.e +x+2
=>3x+6+x+2 by collecting like terms
=>3x+x+6+2
=>4x+8 is the answer
& u can also write this
=>4(x+2) OR 2(2x+4)any one is the correct answer.

3(x + 2) + x + 2
= 3*x + 3*2 + x + 2
= 3x + 6 + x + 2
= 3x + x + 6 + 2
= 4x + 8
= 4(x) + 4(2)
= 4(x + 2)

So it is...

3x+6+x+2

4x+8

Well, I'll take you through this step by step.

First of all always solve the stuff in the brackets. in this case we don't have much to solve. The 3 outside the bracket means that it needs to be multiplied with every one of the terms in the bracket.

So that gives us 3 X x + 3 X 2 + x + 2
ie. 3x + 6 + x + 2
ie 4x + 8
2009-06-05 7:52 am
3(x+2)+x+2=0 => 3x+6+x+2=0 => 4x+8=0 => 4x=-8 => x = -2

= 8 and two x's
2009-06-05 7:51 am
3x+6+x+2 = 4x + 8
