College while on duty in Marines?

I want to know if I need to take the SAT or ACT if I am going to college through the Marines. I will be on active duty. Will I need to take the SAT or ACT? What colleges are available? Will I be able to go to any college or only the ones that my grades in high school and get me in to? I currently have a 3.8 GPA. Can I go off base and go to a school near the base? I want to go to UCSD so I hope I get stationed in San Diego.

You can go to any school close enough to your base. You can go to any online college in the country. but the truth is, you will probably be working 10-12 hours a day and possibly in iraq and deployed so college might be kinda hard. Ive been in the air force for 6 years only got done 25 credits of college. still need another 95

Being a Marine doesn't mean you get to just get into any school you choose. You have to qualify and get into college by taking the required tests.

And don't think you're gonna have time to go study at UCSD if you're at Camp Pendtleton. Those places as to far apart.

If you are joining the USMC to go to college then you're in for a long term. The USMC comes first, and you are not gonna have all this free time you may think you are gonna have.

I get the feeling that you somehow think, you enlist in the Marines, and then you can go to college full time.

No, you do not need to take the SAT or ACT test.

Since you will never really be enrolled in any college,

IE: you will not be a member of any class.

You are just taking specific class's there in your off duty hours.

Your looking at most taking two class's a semester, and that's gonna be hard enough to do, unless you have an office job with regular hours everyday.

You need to apply to any school and meet their requirements, SAT/GPA.

I'd be careful of assuming you will end up in San Diego. If you go to school you will be doing it part time, and as long as it doesn't conflict with deployment training. Remember you're Marine Corps work comes first.

if you're active duty, you should plan online college, because you will not see a deployment coming. Yes, you would still need to take the ACT or SAT. Online colleges should be available through the marines as they are to us.
