Statistically, smarter and more educated people are significantly less likely to be religious. Look it up!

My sisters and I all have IQs over 140, and none of us believe in God. (or any gods)

-edit- You might want to tell the christians that those 10-question long tests on the internet aren't actual IQ tests.

edit2: Einstein scoffed at the idea of a personal God, he was pantheist at best. You should see some of the mean things christians said about him when he boldly stated that he did not believe in a personal God. They were angry.

Yes, and it's been demonstrated numerous times. Atheists generally have higher IQs.

edit:

I can't believe that people think Einstein or Darwin believed in God.

This just shows you how widespread propaganda can be. It also shows you that some believers think that because of one famous person being on a side, it automatically makes that side better or worse.

These are probably the same Christians who decry Hitler as being an atheist (lol), or liken Stalin's political ideologies to atheism or even Darwinism.

for the record:
Einstein - secular pantheist
Darwin - agnostic
Hitler - Roman Catholic
Stalin - atheist (OMG!)

Obviously dear. Statistics absolutely demonstrate this.

It is , however, more a question of education than of IQ.

In every modern civilized countries with efficient public school systems, thanks to education for all, religious delusions and superstitions quietly fade away.

Yeah, I think you're right. This is not to say that NO smart people believe in god. But the smarter you are, the MORE LIKELY you are to begin to see through all the nonsense and not simply believe what you are told.

The higher the IQ, the less likely to be a 'believer'.

Darwin was an agnostic.

And studies have shown that the higher a persons IQ and/or education level the less likely they are to believe in any form of deity or religion.

Many people who decide the whole IQ criteria/question no doubt believe in a god and their stupid religion that comes with it.
Though I think it is much more likely that in common society the higher the iq the less chances of being religious or a believer in stupid things suchs as angels, ghost etc
My IQ is probably around 135, and I was a christian till the age of 34 (now 38) and didn't finish high school (thanks to Jesus).
Of course there are many atheist who have low IQ's. they also believe in other retarded nonsense though. religion isn't everything its just the main problem

If it means anything at all, I was receiving a stipend for gifted children throughout elementary and high school (only the top 2% of all children get that in my country)
And I believe in many many gods. :)
