Take out key,engine still run

Hello,

Someone can help me ~~~~

I have purchased my first 2nd car on 5/28. Recently I found some problem of my car......

When I finish car parking, I turn the car key to left side "lock", then I can take out my car key, the car engine still run.... why ? Is there have any saftly problem ?? I am a bit scare...... but I have the cat saftly check when I purchased this car..... anyone can help me for this question?

My car model is Toyota Lucida G, 1997.

No matter what, you have to take it to a repair shop anyway.
You have a faulty ignition switch, and it needs to be replaced if there's no wiring issue with it. I am not sure if the key slot has to be replaced at the same time.

No turbo car comes with a factory equipped turbo timer, as there's legal issue for unattended vehicle with motor running while the driver is away from the vehicle.

And the timer's run time depends on a lot of different factors, not just 1 min.

Lucida is not a turbocharged car.

If your car is a turbo car, then it normal. Most of car will put a timer switch for protect the turbo not easy damage when sudden turn car off. The timer is set the engine keep running for approx. 1 minute, then stop.
