What is reported question?
Reported question is a type of question that is said by third person. For example: Mary asked, "Who are you?" You need to change to Mary asked who I was.
When will we use reported questions?

In a previous edition of Grammar Challenge, we looked at reported speech. We use reported questions when we want to relate a question that someone has asked. In today's challenge, we ask Noelia from Spain to take a call from William's mum... and then to form correct reported questions.

We use reported questions for what?
We use reported question when we want to say something that someone had said but you want to ask somone this thing again.For example : Tom asks,"What should I do?" He asks what he should do but you also have a problem like his , however you don't want anyone to know it is your problem so you borrow his name to asks this question!!! Change it to : Tom asked what he should do. Remenber put the subject before the verb!!!

Say who was talking and use a reporting verb. Repeat the question word, or use if or whether for yes / no questions. Statement word order, change the pronouns and move the tense back if necessary.

For yes / no questions, use if or whether...

She asked if we were going over for tea.

She also asked how we were going to get there.

Basicly, Reported Questions is used to replace another one's question.

Report question is a type of responses which requires the writer to explain a topic in a different manner from essay form.In order to answer a question in reported format, the writer needs to regroup the responses into point form. Under this circumstances, point form is to explain the main idea of the topic concerned. Unlike the essay, reported format is somehow much easier and effective for reader to understand the concept of the topic and get to the point straightaway. There are an example of a reported question.
Eg HSBC reported their first quarter of net profit.There are a number of areas which reported a serious decline in net profit. They are as follow:
a.)The mortgage sector---the instability on lending drives the whole business backward instead of forward.
b.)The saving sector---the first quarter has reported a decline in saving account which means the customers are less interested in saving their money in bank but instead invested in a wide range of areas.
Reported question is somehow used in a business sector due to the effeciveness of delivering an accurate concept of how a particular enterprise/business is performing in terms of profit and figures. It would also draw closer to the actual fact of the businesses or companies in order to allow the investors and shareholders in getting a better picture of what the companies looked like in the future. Are there any potential for this enterprise to grow further or not?
