American culture has undeniably had a great impact on the world since World War Two, due to the rising entertainment industry.
I think Chinese people are aware that Western/American media is sometimes inadvertently biased (see: "Free Tibet" riots during 2008 Olympics), but contrary to popular belief also realise their own government-controlled media isn't perfect either. They might take both views and apply common sense.
Foreign policy: it's good when they're getting along. But sometimes events can cause friction, e.g. the U2 spy plane incident over Hainan, China in 2001 (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hainan_Island_incident), and more recently the navy disputes.
American food? Usually we think of fast food, sorry.
I think Chinese people are generally receptive towards Obama. However, racists will always be present in every society.
