I really want to model in japan but I don't know where to start. I think I have features that are unique in japan: 5'5, blue/green eyes, blond hair, big lips, thin nose, large breasts, etc... What do you guys think? Do japanese people like the innocent, young, blond look?

You need to be at least 5'9" even in Japan if you want to do fashion, runway, editorial, etc. If you are 5'5" and large breasted, then you can probably do well in glamour modeling

Unfortunately the top Tokyo modeling agencies like Bravo, Donna, Image and Stage require you to be a minimum of 5'9" as a foreign model. They will take shorter Japanese models, but only want tall Western models.

If you look at their books, they are already full of tall blonde, blue eyed models from the US, Scandinavia, Eastern Europe, etc so your look is not unique. Just look at Donna's top female models and the majority are blue-eyed blondes http://www.donnamodels.jp/w-top.html and it's the same at most of the other agencies

at 5'5, isn't that a bit too short to be a model, at least a fashion/runway model. The only other type of model you can try is commercials, but most Japanese companies like to use Asian models and if foreigner, they would rather pay the big bucks and get real stars.

The innocent young blond look with big lips and large breasts would do good in AVs, if that's something you don't mind doing. There's a HUGE market in Japan for that.

There's plenty of foreigners in Japan, if you think having those physical traits is something SUPER special, you're wrong :P

But yeahh, it'd be a little bit like in America, send in your resumes, do your best talking to reps and hopefully modeling for them. Good luck!

If you want to model in Japan, the first thing you should do is cut your head off so your ego will no longer be such a huge problem for you.

You almost remind me of MAGIBON (see Youtube)

But if you want to model professionally like in Vouge Nippon, maybe you sent your resume to their offices? Obviously you need to learn how to speak japanese. You can consider modeling for top agencies like that but you won't be like "JAPANS' NEXT TOP MODEL" or anything like that.

There isn't a law to forbid you to work within the permitted hours as a model. There are agencies who register girls as models and send them to clients( companies who need a model to promote their products, especially if they try to sell these products abroad). It won't be a regular job, but it pays better than serving coffee or working as TA in the university. I would advice you to talk first with your foreign student adviser or the local volunteer organization which helps foreigners. From them you can receive best recommendation about models agency. You can also post a classified in some gaijin magazines /newspapers/sites, but it is good to as somebody's advise before accepting any offer. Requirements are to look good enough to sell products. Some of the cheaper models aren't even attractive, and not that skinny... The risks are that the agency sends you to people, who don't really want a model for a photo session. Or cheats you one way or another, or you become victim of sexual harassment.

send resumes and portfolios to the modeling agencies in japan, i would prefer some of the most known worldwide agencies.

if you are good enough, you will get some work there, dont' think about becoming the next supermodel of japan though.
