right i know this is surds but how do i go about doing it...please could you help and show your answer in a way i will understand!
Firstly i do realise sqr root of 2 is same as 2 to the power of 0.5
but how do i make it a power of 8?!?!?!?!

8 is 2^3 so it is sqrt(2)^6 (that is 2^(.5))^3

2^(1/2) = 8^(x) say
2^(1/2) = 2^(3x)
3 x = 1/2
x = 1 / 6
2^(1/2) = 2^(3x)
3 x = 1/2
x = 1 / 6

= 2^(3 * 1/6)
= (2^3)^(1/6)
= 8^(1/6)
= 2^(1/2)
= 2^(3/6)
= 2^(3 * 1/6)
