multriply 1st equation by 2 and the 2nd equation by 3.
u will get it as
(6x-2y=33 )2= 12x -4y-66
ie 12x-4y-66=0 (1)
(4x+3y=9)3=12x +9y=27
ie 12x+9y-27=0 (2)
subtracting (2) from(1) we get -13y-39=0
ie 3(y-13)=0
therefore either 3 or y-13 is 0
but we know 3 is not equal to 0
ie y-13 =0
therefore y=13
thrrefore substituting y =13 0n (1) we get
12x-4(13)-66=0
ie 6x-2y-33=0
ie 6x=2y+33
therefore x={2(13)+33} /2
ie x = 59/2 =29.5
6x - 2y = 33 .................................. [1]
4x + 3y = 9 ................................... [2]
From [1]
2y = 6x - 33
y = (6x - 33)/2 ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, [3]
From [2] and [3]
4x + 3[(6x - 33)/2] = 9
4x + (18x - 99)/2 = 9
2[4x + (18x - 99)/2] = 2(9)
8x + 18x - 99 = 18
26x = 18 + 99
x = 117/26
x = 9/2 = 4.5
From [3]
y = (6x -33)/2 = (6*(4.5) - 33)/2
y = (27 - 33)/2 = -3
Thus x = 4.5, and y = -3
is the answer.
6x - 2y = 33 (solve by using substitution)
4x + 3y = 9
6x - 2y = 33
2y = 6x - 33
y = (6x - 33)/2
4x + 3y = 9
4x + 3y = 9
4x + 3[(6x - 33)/2] = 9
4x + (18x - 99)/2 = 9
2[4x + (18x - 99)/2] = 2(9)
8x + 18x - 99 = 18
26x = 18 + 99
x = 117/26
x = 9/2 (4.5)
6x - 2y = 33
6(9/2) - 2y = 33
27 - 2y = 33
2y = 27 - 33
y = -6/2
y = -3
∴ x = 9/2 (4.5), y = -3
Multiply first equation by 3 and second equation by 2. Add bothe the equations. You will get the value of x as y term will cancel out. Once u get the value of x , put it in any of the equation , u will get the value of y.
