Associate of Business Programme in Hotel and Catering Management
Introduction
The hotel and catering sector is expected to experience an above-average growth, not only in Hong Kong, but also in its neighbouring areas. This programme aims to enable students to understand the various functions and operations within the hotel and catering industry. Students will gain hands-on experience through internships and the practicum embedded in some of the courses. The programme is designed to prepare students for supervisory/managerial positions in the hotel and catering industry, as well as for further studies in hospitality management and related fields.


Objectives
- To offer plenty of opportunities for students to gain industry experience and develop practical skills in establishments, such as hotel catering and tourism companies, through completing 500 hours of internship

- To train and provide students with the ability to apply problem-solving techniques and critical thinking skills to tackle challenges related to the hotel and catering industry, and

- To prepare students to become the preferred graduates with positive attitudes, knowledge and skills for further studies or employment in fields related to hotel and catering management.
(Practicums in some of the courses of the programme may be conducted in other organizations in Hong Kong or neighbouring areas. In case such practicums are conducted outside of Hong Kong, students will have to bear the costs of travelling, accommodation and any other incidental expenses.)
