不會與不能的英文.......

CAN同時有"能力"與"被期望(允許)"的意思
如果泵有上下文
容易有文意上混亂的時候
可以把"能力"用 be able to 來表達　
而"被期望(允許)"則用 be supposed to

所以
1. 這題目我不會做.>>>>能力問題
2. 我不能吃這個因為會過敏.>>>>醫生或家人的叮嚀 被期望

另外
如是問別人會不會說某種語言或會不會開車
最好別用 can
因為如前所說
can 有涉及"能力"的意思
而以英文為母語者的思考是
開車與說某種語言等事
是"習慣"問題
而非"能力"問題
因此
避免用 can 來問
宜採用 do 來問
比較禮

**我不能吃海鮮, 因為對海鮮會過敏** 如果想要用cannot表達 當然可以 但如果想要更清楚表達並不是因為''不會吃" 而是因為吃了會有不好的後果 那可以使用"shouldn't" or "not supposed to"(不應該)

'I cannot eat seafood because I'm allergic to it.'
或者 "I shouldn't eat seafood because I'm allergic to it"
"I am not supposed to eat seafood because I am allergic to it"

1. 這題目我不會做.
--> 這時候你就可以使用cannot
"I cannot solve this problem." 或是 "I cannot figure out how to do this problem"


2. 我不能吃這個因為會過敏.
--> 就如我以上所說 可以用cannot 但是用Shouldn't or be not supposed to會更清楚的表達你的意思

不會(不知道怎麼做) 通常用don't know how.
不能則用can't, 所以不會混淆.

比方說, I don't know how to drive. 很確定是指我不會開車.
I can't drive. 可能指我不會開車, 也可能指我現在不能開車,
也許因為我喝了太多酒. 或者可能是我方向感太差, 沒辦法開車.

其實有上下文參照的話, 用cannot不至於造成誤解, 例如: I can't eat seafood. I'm allergic to it.

1. I don't know how to answer this question. (這裡用do not know how to意義比較清楚)

2. I can't eat this because of allergy.
