6/(2x) + 3/(2x) = 4x/(2x) <-- Put all terms over common denom
6+3 = 4x
4x = 9
x = 9/4

I'll assume you want to find x.
3/x + 3/2x = 2

Multiple both sides by 2x.
6 + 3 = 4x

Simplify, then divide by 4 to get..
x = 9 / 4 = 2.25

Find the lcd then add then cross multiply.

x=9/4

You cant add fractions that dont have the same denominator so you have to make 3/x and 3/2x equal you would multiply the first one by 2 to make them equal.

3/x + 3/(2x) = 2
2x[3/x + 3/(2x)] = 2x(2)
6 + 3 = 4x
4x = 9
x = 9/4

@ Dan O: no you don't. that's for division. and it's "reciprocal"

answer is 9/4

when you have fractions, it's always easier to multiply the expressions to get the simplest common denominator. In this expression, it's 2x.

first answer is right.

...3......3
[------+------=2]2x
..x.......2x

6+3=4x
9=4x
x=9/4 answer//

Errr.... apparently I am off... I hate Fractions

Because it adds to equal 6/3x. Divide it, and x= 2
