Heres the situation: my friend took MCSE classes about 10 years ago and got a certification and didnt precede in that area or got a job at that time. ANd now he wants to go back and continue in MCSE training and get a job, but forgot almost everything. SO what is the best thing to do to refresh training? THX

SO is MCSE certified something that is beneficially in the future. Should he relearn everything (is it worth it)?

After 10 years, everything has changed. That goes back all the way to Windows NT. There is no "refreshing" that he can do. There are some basic things like DNS and TCP/IP that haven't changed, but Windows networks are now using Active Directory. And the server and workstation OS's have changed. He will have to re-learn practically everything that had to do with Windows networking.

first of all, MCSE that certification is retired and all the things ur friend learned at that time was of no use now. 10 years back mean windows NT, n all.Now a days its all changed SO he has to start it from the scratch again. He has to start learning again that too from the base level except some tcp/ip topics.

He has to go for MCSE 2003 now, which has 7 exams. For complete details check out this article on MCSE 2003.
