One year ago, an earthquake measuring 8.0 on the Richter scale occurred in Sichuan, China. This earthquake claimed many lives and many were injured, mostly students. Up to now, the living conditions of the Sichuan people haven't recovered to the same level they enjoyed in the past.
The surviours who experienced the largest earthquake are still living in hardship. They need to rely on government's relief to spend their lives every day. Many students recalled the day of the tragedy, they couldn't help crying. They claimed that they could not forget the earthquake which always caused them to have bad dreams. Both students and teachers suffered the same nightmare. Their lives in future are vague and they are still helpless. Nevertheless, they still live in great courage.
The author visited the victims living in a village near the earthquake-affected areas. It is said the supplies distributed to them from the government are very little. They are barely enough for the basic living. Nevertheless, they will hold a gathering and reunite with each other every sunday. The author attended their gathering and noticed that they were extremely happy and didn't seem like pessimistic as others.
The earthquake-stricken people are living in great courage and they don't give up easily. As we are living in good fortune, we should cherish our lives and what we own. We should not be upsetted by those small setbacks. At last, we should pay a high tribute to the earthquake victims.
