請用以下三句解釋何時用is, was/ are, were???
最重要係點解第三句不是用were？？
1. there are many swans in the pond.
2. there is a river on the other side of the mountain.
3. there was only Paul, David and me in the swimming pool.

there are用於複數可數名詞，所以many swans就用there are而there is用於單數可數名詞，因此a river用is
至於第３句，嚴格來說是要用were
但隨便一點的英文，也可以用was，尤其當第一個名詞是單數

1&2.因為係眾數與單數的關係.....數唔到就用are....
3)因為個clause內的was係形容paul...而paul係人名...即係當he, she,it咁睇，係英文,he she it係用is has was
