= (5a³[4a²])/15a⁸
= 20a⁵/15a⁸ or (20a⁵/5a⁵)/(15a⁸/5a⁵)
= 4/3a³

Answer: 4/3a³
2009-05-10 5:37 pm
4/5a^3
2009-05-10 5:26 pm
(5a^3 * 4a^2)/(15a^8)
= [(5 * 4)(a^3 * a^2)]/(15a^8)
= [(20)(a^5)]/(15a^8)
= (20a^5)/(15a^8)
= (20/15)(a^5/a^8)
= (4/3)(1/a^3)
= 4/(3a^3)

Mathematics side                  Logic
(5a^3 x 4a^2)                      Multiply the terms on the top
____________                    5 x 4 x a^(3+2) = 20 x a^5
15a^8

20a^5                         If we had a normal fraction with 20/15 we =______                    would simplify it to 4/3. Then using the
15a^8                      division law we subtract the powers of "a"
                            so we get a^(5-8) = a^-3
4
=_____                     To get a positive power we move a^-3
3a^3                      to the denominator.

Hope this helps :)

If memory serves me well:-
The above reduces to 20a^5/15a^8
which again reduces to 4/3a^-3

So the answer is the cube root of 4/3a

not so bad.....

20a^5/15a^8 = (4/3)a^(-3) or 4/(3a^3)

Just multiply and divide the numbers and powers of a.
2009-05-10 5:03 pm
(5a^3 x 4a^2) / (15a^8) = 4/(3a^3)
