yes you can but it's either the service provider of the atm or your bank will assess an inquiry/ foreign transaction fee.

You can always check through online banking. Both ways will give you an updated balance but online inquiry doesn't charge you.

I am from UK and come to Thailand 3 times a year. Last March I was being Charged 150 Baht every withdrawal and then In April my card did not work . I rang my bank back in UK and they told me that I should of told them That I was going to Thailand and they asked me what limit I wanted set when I was in Thailand . The reason being that there is a big fraud on credit cards and 1000's of cards were being scammed. A lot of places do not have chip and pin in Thailand and you have to use vouchers. Before I went last October I informed my bank , set my limit and had no troubles with the few withdraws i made. My Ist option is always to take cash with me , exchange it in Thailand and only use debit or credit cards in emergencies. You will have to talk to your Bank in person , give them all your security details and as long as you have funds you should be able to withdraw your money 2hrs later. if still not working then I suggest you get family member or friend to send you money by western union and you will have that in minutes. good luck

If you have net banking ( e banking ) authorisation, you can view the balance transactions and etc through net:

HSBC is really the same organisation anywhere. The underlying connecting technlogy means that you can have the same service anywhere as long as there is a cable.

Also many banks via MasterCard, Visa, Europay have agreed to provide services to each others clients for example you can check your account of HSBC via many other banks.
