Get a piece of paper. Put two sets of parenthesis down like this ( )( ). the second sign in the equation is a positive and the first is a positive also, so this means that you will have two + signs like this ( + )( + ). On this next part you can use the guess and check thing, ya know the method you learned in kindergarten. The first term 2x^2 has only two multiples; 1x and 2x so they have to go in the first blanks of each parenthesis like this (1x+ )(2x+ ). The last term, 3, also only has two multiples; 1 and 3. Remember that you are trying to get the outter and inner numbers to add up to the middle term, which is 7x. So you have to put these multples in the second blanks like so, (1x+3)(2x+1). As you can see the outter and inner numbers add up to the middle term:1x times 1 =1x, 3 times 2x=6x, 6x+1x =7x, which is the middle term. This is your answer if you only want to factor it , but if you are looking for an actual solution it would be
-3/1 or -1/2. I kinda skipped over the guess and check part for you though kinda a waste of time.
hope I helped!
