Find the point of intersection of each of the following pairs of lines.
1. L1 : 3x+6=0 and L2 : 2y-4=0
2. L1 : x=4 and L2 : 2x+3y=2

將兩式聯立
3x+6=0 ..........(i)
2y-4=0............(ii)
from(i), 3x=-6
x=-2
from(ii) 2y=4
y=2
所以交點係(-2,2)
x=4 ..........(i)
2x+3y=2...........(ii)
將(i)代入(ii)
2(4)+3y=2
y=-2
所以交點係(4,-2)

3x + 6 = 0 that is x = -6/3 = -2 which is a vertical line .
2y - 4 = 0 that is y = 4/2 = 2 which is a horizontal line.
so the point of intersection is x = - 2 and y = 2 or (-2,2).
Q2.
Sub. x = 4 into L2 we get 2(4) + 3y = 2, so 3y = 2 - 8 = - 6
y = -6/3 = - 2. The point of intersection is therefore ( 4, -2).
