Why are people scared of the swine flu?

First off only 100 have been infected and out of those 100 people only 1 dies and that was because he/she was a baby which has no immune system. Only babies old people and people with no immune system should worry. Basically it is a normal flu that just happened to come from a pig news flash people people die from the normal flu too. I jut feel that we should be concentrating our efforts on more worthwhile things.

Your misinformation is rampant. Normal flu does have an impact on the young and the elderly. However most of the mexican deaths more than 150 that are associated with this strain of flu have been young healthy individuals. Their immune systems go over board and that is what causes the fatalities. There fore the CDC/ WHO have concerns for this strain of virus. It is very much like the strain that killed thousands in 1918.
I do agree with you that the media has ignited a fear that is over blown but accurate information is vital.

It can develop and become more powerful, so powerful that are immune systems won't be able to fight it of and will kill all of us. Plus the medication wouldn't work
