Japanese foods for the family?
I was in Japan for the whole year last year and became a big fan of Japanese cuisine. Now that I'm back in Japan I want to continue cooking Japanese! What can I cook for my family who are not big fans of asian cuisine? I would love something classy like you would pick up in a Japanese restaurant I just don't know what!

something that's more "familiar" like:
- fresh (ie. a green salad with Japanese (ie. miso) dressing or cucumber roll sushi)
- deep-fried (ie. pork cutlets and tempura)
- grilled (ie. terriyaki chicken/salmon, yakitori)
- boiled (ie. sukiyaki with sliced beef and tofu)
- baked (ie. oyster motoyaki, Japanese cheesecake)
I'd say stay away from raw fish and meat until they are ready to try it.
'Kyushu-style Fried Chicken/Chicken Nanban' should be an easily accepted dish.. Serve it with some miso soup, side of salad and steamed Japanese rice..
The recipe is as of below and I absolutely adore it because it's so light compared to any 'popcorn' chicken KFC can come up with..
Try some tofu in miso-sauce
Try some teriaki chicken as many people like it. It is a simple dish, just search on the internet for a recipe. I had the same problem and my family love it!
Make some eel rolls those are always tasty or maybe some udon soup or even tiger rolls.
CHINA ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
