Why use internal job posting?

I want to know that why we use internal job posting.

Reason for Internal Job Posting: (assume internal means within the entire company):

1. Effectiveness
It is less costly to hire via internal posting. The target applicants are already familiar with the company's operation so the chance of a good fit is higher, and the cost of training is lower.

2. Efficiency
Internal communication is already established so the posting and the application process should be efficient. Information on the position and on the applicants are easily obtainable. Security check and reference checks are either unnecessary or easily completed.

3. Extension of internal promotion opportunity
Staff can apply for better positions outside of their immediate area through a company sponsored channel, without fear of being considered unloyal to their current managers. The managers, on the other hand, are not as restricted to the size of the department, in terms of providing a better career path for their staff.

4. Ease of competitional conflict within a department.
When there are more cross department mobility, staff within a department will not have the feeling of being trapped in a cage, and will therefore not act like they need to use the jungle law to survive.

5. Creates healthy inter-departmental competition for talented staff and promotes positive management practice.

6. Retention of Talent in the company.
Staff unhappy with their circumstances can apply to another department without having to leave the company altogether.

7. Cultivation of staff with more diversified experience.
Since the staff have more mobility via internal posting, they can gather more diversified experience without losing their pension status and friends network.
