An earthworm starts moving toward a point 1.8cm away at a pace of 1cm per minute, as it get tired, it cover only half the distance compared to previous minute in each succeeding minute How long will it take to reach its target.(correct to nearest 2 decimal place).

1st min --------1cm
2nd min-------0.5cm
3rd min --------0.25cm
after it left 0.05cm
the time needed is60x(0.05/0.125)= 24second


so,total time needed is 3min and 24seconds

1 + 0.5 + 0.25 + 0.075 = 8


0.25 / 2 = 0.125
0.125 x 0.6 = 0.075
0.075 / 0.125 = 0.6
0.6 x 60s = 36s

So, the earthworm spend 3.36 min to reach its target
