Has anyone noticed a big increase in throat mucus during pregnancy?

I posted a question earlier because I've recently been experiencing lots of nausea (at 18 weeks pregnant), and I haven't had any at all until this point. I've noticed that there is a lot of mucus in my throat at any given time, but especially when I first wake up. I think this may be contributing to the nausea, because it's really gross when it's sliding down your throat. Has anyone else had this problem? And is there any way to get rid of it? My gag reflex is really sensitive right now, so this extra mucus is a big nuisance!

P.S. Before someone asks, I don't have a cold causing the extra mucus. It's just always there, almost from the beginning of the pregnancy! Weird.

Ugh yes Kathy, I have the same problem with brushing my teeth! It's SUPER annoying, I figured it must affect other people too! Glad to hear that yours went away though, hopefully mine will soon too!

Yes, it happened to me, too and the worst part was whenever I brushed my teeth, it'll trigger my gag reflex to "cough" up the mucus and along my last meal. Mine went away around the 21-week mark. Drink more water and chewing gum helps, too.

It is completely normal to produce extra mucus during pregnancy. It should be ok but ask your doctor if you can take sudafed, it may or may not help.
