Chinese New Year
Chinese New Year, a traditional holiday of Chinese people, is coming soon.
Does not like first day of January, it tends to be celebrated around February.
In this holiday, people tend to go home and have a big dinner with their family,
no matter where they are, it is more like the Christmas for Canadian people.
Everyone puts on his new clothes, which means a brand new start in a new year.
Instead of having turkey, Chinese people prefer to have a hotpot, which is a symbol
of reunion. Usually after the big dinner, the elder of the family would give children
allowance, which is been called red package, to bless the children. Chinese New Year
is the only festival that all the family members would reunite with each other. Thus, if
you have the chance to come to our country around February, do not forget to
celebrate the New Year with us!
