1)雖然

Although

a. I did not forgive him although he had said sorry to me.

a. 我沒有原諒他，雖然他已經向我說了對不起。


b. Although he was not required to answer all questions, he still answer all questions.

b. 雖然他沒有被要求回答所有問題，他仍然回答了所有問題。



2)不過

But / however

A/ but
a. I know you lost your watch but this one is not yours.

a. 我知道你遺失了你的手錶不過這隻不是你的。


B/ however
a. He looks like a thief, however he is not.

a. 他像一個小偷，不過他不是。


b. However I saw him steal my watch.

b. 不過我看到他偷了我的手錶。



3)其實

Actually

a. Actually, I don't like reading.

a. 其實我不喜歡閱讀。




4)至於

For

a. For your question, I have no idea.

a. 至於你的問題，我沒有主意。

(其實還有很多，不過for是最簡單、易用、常見的一個)




5)事實

In fact

a. In fact, the WWI pave the way for the WWII.

a. 事實上，第一次世界大戰為第二次世界大戰鋪路。


(事實的noun是"fact"，可以單一使用，e.g. The fact is the thief is Tom. 事實就是，那小偷是Tom。)

however和but是有分別的，作為conj.，多數會用but，however多數會放在句子的前方，該句通常會是一句linking sentence。

天氣雖然很冷， 他沒有穿大衣就出去了。

But (不過)
例句： I was going to write, but I lost your address.
我本來要寫信的，不過我把你的地址弄丟了。

Actually (其實)
例句： Actually it's we that owe you a lot.
其實應該是我們感謝您。

As to (至於)
例句： I don't know anything as to the others.
至於其他，我一無所知。

In fact (事實上)
例句： I said it was Tuesday, but in fact it was Monday.
我說那天是星期二，但事實上是星期一。
