The outer rectangle area=(x+3)(3x-2)=3x^2+7x-6
The inner rectangle area=6*x=6x
The shaded area
=The outer rectangle area-The inner rectangle area
=3x^2+7x-6-6x
=3x^2+x-6
If the shaded area=24
3x^2+x-6=24
3x^2+x-30=0
x=3 or x=-10/3 (rejected)
