"The Queen"[戲名, 加番引號以茲識別], a well-known film, is about a crisis in the Royal[英國皇室係用Royal嘅] family caused by the death of Princess Diana – "the People’s Princess" – in a tragic car accident in France. Diana’s divorce with Prince Charles led to her exclusion in the Royal circle and the Queen decided to make Diana’s funeral a private one. Her decision caused an uproar amongst the British people who demandedto give Diana a Royal funeral. This put the Queen in a dilemma but in the end she dealt with the problem calmlyand relented, allowing such to go forth. Privately the Queen was very sad about Diana’s death but she knew that her subjects expected her to be strong and stable. Being the Monarch she had to face the media and could not be seen to be emotional, certainly not weeping. To reign she had to hide her sentiments, give up her freedom as well as the childhood of a normal person. Herdevotion and resolution deserved to be praised. The Queen applied aptly her wisdom in deciding when tohold her grounds and when to concede. This made her avery successful Sovereign.
