During 2005,the total production of the industries was valued at $3 012 billion. It accounted for 4 per cent of vegetables, 32 per cent of cut flowers, 22 per cent of live pigs, 52 per cent of live poultry, 6 per cent of freshwater fish and 26 per cent of seafood sold locally. Approximately 17 670 people were employed directly in the industry
In 2007, the local agriculture industry produces $1,093 million worth of produce. It comprises $301 million of crop production, $489 million of livestock production and $303 million of poultry production


The average daily production of vegetable, live chicken and live pigs are 52 tonnes, 19,900 birds and 739 heads respectively

In 2007, local production accounted for 3 percent of fresh vegetables, 46 percent of live poultry and 18 percent of live pigs consumed in the territory

The most common crops cultivated are leafy vegetables and high-value cut flowers

The trend of the livestock industry is towards fewer but bigger farms. Production of live pigs is the most important livestock sector and the poultry industry includes mainly production of chickens and pigeon.

In conclusion,the major types of agricultural activities are vegetables and poultry.
