I just bought a linksys router, and the model is WAP54G. I have cable wired connection connected to a computer. Now the problem is, I have two ethernet cable, one from my wired cable connection, and it is connected with the computer; then another one from the router. There is only one plug in the router, one plug in the cable modem, and one plug in the computer. How do I connect the three things together?

As an alternative to returning your WAP54G access point and exchanging it for a wireless router (like the WRT54G), you could pick up a wired router (like the BEFSR41) and chain the WAP54G to it. That would give you more flexibility, since the WAP54G can also be configured as a wireless client, repeater, or bridge in addition to its default configuration as an access point. Used wired routers are widely available and cheap, since many folks are replacing them with wireless units.

If you were looking for a router, you bought the wrong item. You have a wireless access point, not a router. Take it back and buy a router, such as the WRTG54G2, etc.
