//////
4x-1+(5/(3x-1))
= (12x² - 7x + 6)/(3x - 1)
= 4x - 1 & 5
Answer: 4x - 1 & 5/(3x - 1)
Proof:
= ([4x - 1][3x - 1]) + 5
= (12x² - 4x - 3x + 1) + 5
= 12x² - 7x + 1 + 5
= 12x² - 7x + 6
I'lll use the synthetic division..
12x^2-7x+6
--------------
...3x-1
...let 3x-1=0
then a=1/3
1/3|...12...-7.....6
................4....-1
-----------------------------
..........12..-3....5 r=5
so
12x^2-7x+6
------------------=12x-3+[5/3x-1] answer//
.....3x-1
12x^2 - 7x + 6 / 3x-1
1) 3x-1 X 4x = 12x^2 - 4x
finding a multiple
2) 12x^2 - 7x - (12x^2 - 4) = -3x + 6 : [-7-(-4)] = -3, bring down 6
then substrate it
3) 3x-1 X -1 = -3x + 1
finding a multiple
4) -3x + 6 - (-3x + 1) = 5
refer to answer in 2 & continue subtracting.
since there is no x in 5.
the answer is 4x-1 remainder 5.
***ps i did this out of the blue.
i might get it wrong =.=
