In a certain city, 1/5 of the days in a year are rainy, 1/15 of the days
are snowy and 1/30 of the days are both rainy and snowy.
find the probability that a given day in the city is
A. either rainy or snowy,
Ans: 7/30
B. neither rainy nor snowy.
Ans: 23/30

A) P(either rainy or snowy)= P(rainy) + P(snowy) - P(both rainy and snowy)
= 1/5 + 1/15 - 1/30
= 7/30
B) P(neither rainy nor snowy.)
= 1 - P( either rainy or snowy)
= 1 - 7/30
= 23/30
