x is a common root of the equations y^2-2y cosec z – 4 =0 and y^2-2y cot z – 2=0 where 0(degree) <z <360(degree).

Given x = 1 (cot z – cosec z).

Find the value (s) of tan z.

Thank you.

x = 1 (cot z – cosec z) should be x = 1/(cot z – cosec z)
(It can be deduced, why given?)

tan z = 2x/(1-x)
