The reaction of ammonia with oxygen can be catalyesd by red-hot platinum .Which of the following statement concerning the reaction is /are corrrecr?
(1)The reation gives nitrogen monxide and water as the major products
(2)tHE REaction gives nitrogen dioxide and water as the majior produchts
(3)the reation is exothermic
Answer:(1) and(3) are correct

✔ 最佳答案

(1) is correct.
In the presence of red-hot platinum as catalyst, ammonia reacts with oxygen to give nitrogen monoxide and water.
4NH3(g) + 5O2(g) → 4NO(g) + 6H2O(g)

(2) is incorrect.
The major products of the reaction are nitrogen monoxide and water. At room temperature, nitrogen monoxide reacts with oxygen in air to give nitrogen dioxide.
2NO(g) + O2(g) → 2NO2(g)
However, nitrogen dioxide is NOT the product of the reaction between ammonia and oxygen in the presence of red-hot platinum catalyst.

(3) is correct.
The reaction is very exothermic. The heat evolved from the reaction makes the platinum catalyst keep red hot without heating.

1. 4NH3 + 5O2 ----- 6H2O + 4NO
major products就係 nitrogen monxide and water

2. 上面formula寫左,major products就係
nitrogen monxide and water,而唔係nitrogen dioxide
and then nitrogen monxide oxidized to nitrogen dioxide

3. it is a Redox reaction, which is exothermic

仲有,呢個Reaction已經Out Sy
而家會考一定唔會出
