Pron的問題(mine vs him/her)

點解我地講我的朋友既英文係用the friend of mine, mine係有’我的’意思，但係用他／她的時候係用the friend of him, him係賓語但係沒有'他的'的意思，同樣的句式但係用的詞類不同, 請問點解? 究竟唔會唔有the friend of me既句法呢? 點解? 謝謝解答!!

在英文裏有雙重所有格（double genitive），既有of也有's；如：a friend of mine，that boyfriend of Mary's等等但雙重所有格，通常用a, an, this, these, that, those, no等帶出，而不可用the帶出，而且XX's的ｘｘ必須是人。
所以the friend of mine是錯的，我們只會說a friend of mine

當然the friend of him, the friend of me文法上是沒有錯的，但通常我們會說his friend, my friend，因為不論英文或中文都講求簡潔

"The friend of him " is wrong.
It should be "The friend of his"
