Which one is more appropriate with reference to its meaning?

Question: What do Dolphins like most?
Answer: Dolphins like shrimp and carp most.

My question is for you : If I don't write "the" after the word "carp" in the answer,will my answer get appropriate meaning?
and If I write "the" after "carp" in the answer,will my answer get appropriate meaning?

Hi,

Dolphins like shrimps and carp the most.
There you have the right meaning.

Without the word 'the' it just sounds like you dont know what grammar is...:)

You could also write : Dolphins like mostly shrimp and carp. It has a slightly different meaning and of course you would have to edit your question as well. Thats why this is just a suggestion..

If you say "the carp" then you're talking about only one specific carp.
