Use parentheses: (x + 6)/(a million-x) / (x^2 - 9x + 18)/(x^2 - 7x + 6) = ((x +6)(x^2 - 7x + 6))/((a million - x)(x^2 - 9x + 18)) = ((x + 6)(x - 6)(x - a million))/((a million - x)(x - 6)(x - 3)) = ((x + 6)(x - 6)(-a million)(a million - x))/((a million - x)(x - 6)(x - 3)) = (-a million)(x + 6)/(x - 3) = (-x - 6)/(x - 3)
