Leaves grow on trees, it should be.."nothing can make him leave."

Nothing can make him LEAVE
After an auxiliary verb (in this case "to make one X") a verb is usually in the infinitive (i.e. no "s" ending).

You could have:

Nothing can make him leave

but I think

Nothing makes him leave

is better. Can make is a bit clumsy and the can is not really necessary here.
