(-1)x = (-1)6
x= -6


620 + x = 800
620 - 620 + x = 800 - 620
x = 180


x + 117 =10
x + 117 - 117 = 10 - 117
x = -107

x = - 6

x = 180

in approaching these problems, what you always want to do is end up with x isolated on one side of the equal signs

then also remember, you can perform math functions without changing the equation as long as you perform the same function to both sides of the equal signs

so for problem 1, multiply both sides of the equation by -1 to get x=-6
in problem 2, subtract 620 from both sides of the equation to get x = 180

in problem 3 subtract 117 from both sides of the equation to get x = -107

- x = 6 -----> x= -6

620 + x = 800------> x=800-620--->x=180


x + 117 =10-------->x=10-117-------->x= -107

subtract 620 from both sides
x=whatever
