I think the following is what your project is about:

1. prepare some crushed potato chips (different brands, same weight)
2. mix the crushed potato chips with distilled water (same volume)
3. titration of this solution with silver nitrate with potassium chromate as the indicating agent

Note this is just like acid-base titration with litmus but use chlorides and silver nitrate with chromate. This is called the Mohr method.
