My desktop has two slots for RAM card?

No, not normally, if you have 1 stick of RAM in needs to go in slot 1. If you cannot tell what slot that is, just try any slot and if you got the correct one your computer will start. If you chose wrongly, the computer will not boot. It will not damage your computer. Take it out and put it in the other slot.

Yeah, you can put ram in either slot. I haven't heard of anyone putting RAM in the wrong slot, and it didn't work. However, if your computer beeps, just change the RAM to the other slot, you'll be straight.

You may use both memory modules, as long as they are both supported by the motherboard.
