Please explain the answer in detail.
Also, why will the reinforcement and cancellation occur at point p periodically? Do the antinodal lines means that constructive interference occur at that lines?

The answer is D.

A: Obviously, this is not true. It should be the frequency of the waves generated by S2 is twice that of S1 instead.

B: After some time, when there is the next crest reached by the wave generated by S2, it should be the trough of the wave generated by S1. At this moment, the waves at P have cancellation with each other. This will happen periodically.

C: The waves obey superposition since they are the waves of the same nature. If is not necessary for them to have the same frequency/wavelengths.

D: Mentioned by option B and C.

The antinodal lines means that constructive interference occur at that line.
