The first statement is false. An anti-acid is used to neutral excess acid in gastric juice. Sodium hydroxide should not be used as an anti-acid because it is a strong alkali, and thus very corrosive.

The second statement is true.

The answer is B.

The first statement is true. A salt is a product other than water that formed in neutralization between an acid and an alkali. When sodium hydroxide is neutralized by ethanoic acid, sodium ethanoate is formed.

The second statement is true. Vinegar is a dilute solution of ethanoic acid.

However, the second statement is not an explanation of the first statement.
