Ball A of mas 2m and ball B of mass m fall from the height of h and 3h respectively. What is the ratio of the maximum momentum of A to that of B?

For ball A:

2mgh = 1/2 ( 2m )v^2
=> v = sqrt( 2gh )
=> max momentum = 2m( sqrt( 2gh )) = m( sqrt( 8gh ))

For ball B:

mg( 3h ) = 1/2mv^2
=> v = sqrt( 6gh )
=> max momentum = m( sqrt( 6gh))

Ratio of A:B = sqrt( 8 ) : sqrt( 6 ) = 2 : sqrt( 3 )
