Can you pay online things with debit cards?

Yes. You can use a debit card to pay for stuff online. If the card is a Visa backed card you are protected under their guidelines. Most banks also offer fraud protection as well. Just make sure the site is trusted and secure and you shouldn't have any problems.
You can also use paypal and pay for stuff online through them. I believe they have a virtual number you can use instead of a credit or debit card. Use their number and it's pulled from your account just like a debit card.

Sure can. I use my debit card almost exclusively for all my purchases and bill paying. The credit card is reserved for big-ticket items or emergencies.

Yes, you can use your debit card just like a credit card if it has the symbol in the corner saying it's a Visa/MC/Discover. However DON'T do this!! NEVER use your debit card to make online purchase. There is no protection for you if something happens with that account. Remember this card is you checking account. Someone can drain the funds from it and then what?! You have nothing. If you use a Visa and someone makes an unauthorized purchase you have protection. You won't be responsible for it. If you order something and never receive it, you call up Visa and they will make the company send you the goods. If they don't you don't pay for it. You are credited the charges. With the debit card......too bad. They already have the money right out of your checking. Get a card that is just for making online purchases. If you have poor credit and can't get a credit card, then look into getting a secured account. Which means you open it with $500 cash. Then you have $500 credit limit. You still have the protection of the regular credit cards. No goods, no pay and so on. Did I mention DON'T use a debit card for online purchase???

Yes they act just like a credit card for purchases. HOWEVER, sometimes you do not have the protection on your debit card that you do with a credit card in the case of a fraudulent charge. I have a debit card that I just keep $50 on for online - just transfer money to cover a purchase but not enough to hurt if something happens to the card.
