think of x and (x-2) as two numbers
If two numbers multiply to give zero then what does this say about them?
It says that at least one of them must be zero
so
either x=0 or (x-2)=0
ie the solutions are
x = 0 or 2
.,.,.

x(x - 2) = 0

x = 0

x - 2 = 0
x = 2

∴ x = 0 , 2

x = 2 and x = 0

There's a property that says that if AB=0, then A=0 or B=0, or both.

In this problem, it means since x(x-2)=0, then x=0 or x-2=0.

Add 2 to both sides of the latter equation to get x=2, so x=0 or x=2.

eighter x=0,or x-2=0,x=2

x could be 0 (anything multiplied by zero = Zero

x could be 2 (because then x-2 = 0; see above)

x(x-2)=0
means
either x=0
or x-2=0
x=2

x=0 and x=2.

x(x-2) = 0

expand brackets x^2 - 2x = 0

add 2x to both sides

x^2 = 2X

divide both sides by x

x=2

The value of X will be 2
