Always remember that whatever you do on one side of the equation, you must do on the other.

-4(x - 3) = 12

Divide both sides by -4:-

(x - 3) = -3

[12 divided by -4 is -3 - a minus times a minus is a plus]

Add 3 to both sides:-

x = 0

-4(x - 3) = 12
-4x + 12 = 12
-4x = 0
undefined.
2009-03-15 3:00 pm
-4(x - 3) = 12
-4*x + (-4)(-3) = 12
-4x + 12 = 12
-4x = 12 - 12
x = 0/-4
x = 0
2009-03-15 2:10 pm
expand: -4x+12=12
-4x=-12+12
-4x=0
x=0/-4
x=0

First, u need to expand the equation.. U will get
-4x+12 = 12
Then bring 12 to ur right side 2 find the value of -4x
-4x=0
x=0

This works out to - 4x +12 = 12, so x = 0,as - 4x = 12 - 12

- 4 (x - 3) = 12
Multiply - 4 with the contents of the bracket.
- 4x + 12 = 12
- 4x = 12 - 12
- 4x = 0
Dividing both sides by - 4.
x = 0
2009-03-15 2:04 pm
-4x + 12 = 12

-4x = 0

x = 0
2009-03-15 2:04 pm
Expand.
(-4*x) + (4*3) = 12
-4x +12 = 12
-4x = 0
x = -(0/4)
x = 0
2009-03-15 2:03 pm
x=0
